New York CNN —Starting Tuesday, there’s a new company on the Nasdaq: Trump Media & Technology Group, which will trade under the stock ticker DJT. The social media app was never a blockbuster, though, and it’s unclear how the company will ever make money. While Trump Media may be new, its stock ticker is a throwback to Trump’s only other publicly traded company. Trump bestowed the same initials on his Atlantic City casino business, Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, back when that company went public in 1995. Trump Media generated just $3.4 million of revenue through the first nine months of last year, according to SEC filings.

Elijah Nouvelage | ReutersThe sprawling Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants can continue if either Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis or prosecutor Nathan Wade removes themselves, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ruled Friday. Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee looks on during a hearing in the case of the State of Georgia v. Donald John Trump on February 12, 2024 at the Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia. Willis and Wade admitted to the relationship only after it was first alleged in January court filings for defendant Michael Roman. and the prosecutor engaged in an "improper, clandestine personal relationship" and that they profited off the arrangement at taxpayers' expense. But both Willis and Wade insisted their relationship posed neither a personal nor financial conflict, and Willis has decried related claims as "fantastical theories and rank speculation."

You think I'm on trial," Willis quipped to a defense attorney. In a hot pink dress, and visibly displeased, Willis took the stand with an argumentative attitude and choice words for the defense attorney questioning her. Yeartie testified in the case Thursday, saying Willis and Wade began a relationship in 2019, contradicting his prior claims. Willis was verbose on the stand, cracking jokes and snapping at the defense attorney as she appeared eager to take back control of the case. AdvertisementDozens of reporters were squeezed into the back three rows of the downtown Atlanta courtroom, awaiting Willis' testimony.

John David Mercer/Pool via REUTERS Acquire Licensing RightsWASHINGTON, Dec 1 (Reuters) - A lawyer for Donald Trump said on Friday that the former U.S. president should not face trial on charges that he sought to overturn the 2020 election results in the state of Georgia if he wins the election next year. Trump is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic President Joe Biden in the 2024 election. Sadow said that if Trump wins the election, he would seek to postpone the trial until after he left office, arguing that it would interfere with his responsibilities as president. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis last week requested the Georgia trial begin in August 2024, a timeline that would likely extend the proceedings through Election Day and into early 2025. “What would be the state's response that having this trial on Election Day is election interference?” Judge Scott McAfee asked prosecutors.

On its face, the criminal case accusing former President Donald J. Trump and 18 of his allies of conspiring to overturn his 2020 election loss in Georgia has little in common with the other high-profile racketeering case now underway in the same Atlanta courthouse: that of the superstar rapper Young Thug and his associates. But the 15-month-old gang case against Young Thug — which, like the Trump case, is being prosecuted by Fani T. Willis, the Fulton County district attorney — offers glimpses of how State of Georgia v. Donald John Trump et al. may unfold: with a plodding pace, an avalanche of pretrial defense motions, extraordinary security measures, pressure on lower-level defendants to plead guilty, and a fracturing into separate trials, to name a few. Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, was indicted in May 2022 along with 27 others under Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations statute, known as RICO. Like Mr. Trump’s RICO indictment, the charging papers described a corrupt “enterprise” whose members shared common illegal goals.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Wednesday proposed a March 4 trial date for her case accusing former President Donald Trump and others of trying to overturn Georgia's 2020 election results. In his other active criminal cases, Trump's attorneys have advocated for delaying the trials until after the 2024 presidential election. Trump's criminal trial in New York, on charges of falsifying business records related to hush money payments, is set for March 25. A federal judge in Florida, meanwhile, set a May 20 trial date in special counsel Jack Smith's case accusing Trump of mishandling classified records. In a separate federal case charging Trump with election-related crimes, Smith's office has proposed a Jan. 2 trial start.

But on the same day that Mr. DeSantis announced his campaign in May, the conservative group announced that Mr. Trump would headline its conference in Florida, perhaps miffing the host governor. The lineup of speakers on Saturday may have given Mr. DeSantis further pause. It included three Republican House members from Florida who have endorsed Mr. Trump’s candidacy: Representatives Byron Donalds, Anna Paulina Luna and Matt Gaetz. Ms. Kelly, who famously tangled with Mr. Trump in a G.O.P. “The vast majority of the Republican Party wants Trump,” she said, adding that Mr. Trump’s indictments had only burnished his stock with conservative voters.
